Xiamen - The Stone City in South China

Xiamen, also known as Amoy, is a city in the southeast coast of China, Fujian province. It consists of Xiamen Island, Gulangyu and some coastal areas. It is an important coastal city and a trading harbor located just near the island of Taiwan. The city has tremendously developed its own economy and has been ranked as China's second most livable city.

During the Opium Wars in the mid 19-th century Xiamen was captured and became one of the first treaty ports until the 20-th venture when it became Chinese provincial city and China Special Economic Zone in 1980. Nowadays

Xiamen is among top 10 ports in China, connected with over 60 ports in more than 40 different countries; the city is also considered the main air hub in the eastern China.

Xiamen is famous for it's stone companies and factories, as well as Stone Fairs. China Xiamen International Stone Fair founded in 2001, attracts 2000+ international exhibitors from 57 countries every year. The purpose of the fair is to present latest products, design solutions, new technologies and, of course, create new business opportunities, especially for stone importers and professionals from the construction industry.

In 2021, the 21st edition of the Xiamen Stone Fair takes place from May,18 to May, 21. (Due to the situation of Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), the Fair might be postponed or canceled.)
